Would you like to upgrade your property locks to conform to British standard?
| Many insurance companies require certain standard of lock fitted to your home or premises before they will insure you. The most common type of request is for British standard locks to be fitted.British standard locks generally have a kite mark and the numbers bs3621 on them. You may get numbers like BS3621- 2004 or BS3621 -1980
It is always best to speak to your Insurers before getting any work done as each insurer has slightly different requirements. Its important you read through the policy details extra carefully and dont assume anything. Sometimes Insurers may ask for locks etc that just arent physically possible to fit, if this is the case we can advise and liase with you and them if need be on your behalf. Some Insurers also insist on window locks or extra door bolts so it is best to get them to send you a letter of exactly what it is they want. This allows us to make sure we fit exactly the right products they require for your peace of mind. Potentially saving further heartache let alone thousands of pounds. |
